 So Super Excited to see The Biggest Loser Finale with all my Tweethearts!!!  I am going to do a recap post of all the festivities tonight after the show!!!  This  is a “How My Week Went” Post.

 completed 4 resistance workouts at the gym (generated by dailyburn.com) I am feeling CRAZY STRONG!!!!!  I LOVE to lift weights!!!  I even have @kthenb doing the workouts with me!!!! (She is Killing it too) 😉 I also did some bike riding, to include 15 mile ride on Saturday!!!!  My diet was a little Low on calories.  I skipped a few Breakies (NOT GOOD)!  I’m still drinking my water!!!  My week was a Success with One itty bitty exception…..MY SLEEPING STILL SUCKS!!!  I am trying to be in bed by 11!!!  I did this 3 out of the 7 days!!  PLEASE keep an eye out for me like @nomorebacon did on google “A friendly reminder… it is after 11” <~ I didn’t think anyone could see me!!! LOL!!! #BUSTED (BTW….I LOVE you for that)  End Result of last week… I LOST 2 POUNDS!!!  I VOW to make THIS WEEK BETTER!!!!!

GOALS FOR THIS WEEK:

1.  BE SELFISH!!! (Its getting easier)

2.  No Bread, Rice, or Pasta (More protein and veggies)

3.  IN BED BY 11 PM (week day ONLY..Im going to Orlando for Memorial Day Weekend)

4. 2 miles every morning and 45 minutes of the elliptical at night

5.  200 crunches a day (This is a piece of cake)

6.  Resistance Train AT LEAST 4 Days (alternating upper and lower body)

7.  Take a stroll at noon (Just to smell the roses…#Exhale)

8.  Leave a comment on EVERY BLOG that visits my blog (and leaves a comment…or  I won’t know who you are)

Okie Dokie!!! Let’s see how this week goes….so far so good!!!

The Picture I Took This Morning AFTER My Run/Walk

 

This has been a VERY EXCITING week!  I was challenged by @kthenb to walk/run 3 miles Monday-Friday of this week.  I’m PROUD to report that WE DID IT!!!  I set a goal and achieved it!!!  It felt WONDERFUL!!!  This was in addition to the challenge I received from @slorunnermom on the dailyburn.com to complete 100 miles (running BUT she is gracefully allowing me to count ALL my miles 😉 ) She also challenged me to 100 miles biking!!!  I plan to “ride out” later today!!!  (I’m 16 miles behind her!!!)  I purchased a Garmin Forerunner 405.  I’m still trying to figure it out BUT when I manage to get it to work, it is an awesome training tool!!!  I have developed an accountability group for my diet!!  (Kat, Terri, and Kimmie) We send our logs to each other daily with our exercise included as well!!!  This is a great tool to help keep the bad food choices few and far between!!!  I have ONLY CONSUMED WATER for the month of May!  Another one of Kimmie’s Bright ideas!!!  It was hard at first BUT it’s getting easier!!!  I’m still able to drink my green smoothies in the morning for breakfast!!!  These little ditties give me soooooo much energy!!!  Starts my day off right!!!  Whenever I have a birthday, I evaluate where I am in my life!!!  I’m pretty darn happy with the direction my life is taking!!!  I decided to Add A Little “Spice” to my life in the form of a “Road Race” in January!!  Details a little later BUT for now, just know that I am moving daily, headed to becoming a
“Lean mean fighting machine”  I am also doing 200 crunches a day to get my abs TIGHT!!!  If EVERYTHING goes according to plan, I will get my belly button RE-pierced in Chicago in October when we go to watched @slorunnermom compete in her FIRST MARATHON EVER!!!!!!! (I’m SO EXCITED for her!!!)  So if you see me on twitter/Facebook/Myspace/Dailymile/or DailyBurn, ask me how my abs are coming along!!!  Help Keep me focused!!! 😉  This (the following video is just ONE of my “Ab Inspirations” (Janet Jackson is my number) 

Sooooo…. I was riding to the store yesterday and “talking” to a close friend of mine (that I havent met…YET) We were talking about this weeks successes and not quite successes.  Out of the blue, she asked me “What are you afraid of?  You have ALL the KNOWLEDGE/TOOLS to SUCCEED, so what is your damage?”  After I got over my initial annoyance that she would even have the NERVE to ask me such a thing, I began to look inside so that I could give her MY TRUTH!  It ISNT a fear of success!!  I Pride myself on being a SUCCESSFUL BLACK WOMAN!!  I LOVE to set goals and ACCOMPLISH them!!  It’s not childhood damage!!  I had THE BEST CHILDHOOD EVER!!  I’m NOT an Overeater… More times than not, I skip meals and UNDER EAT!! (I’m doing much better now) 

MY PROBLEM….. My “WHY” for WHY AM I STILL OVERWEIGHT?!?!? 

I Put EVERYONE’S NEEDS Before MY OWN!!!!! 

Carla has been trying to help me with this for a while but I really didn’t think it had anything to do with my weightloss….I WAS WRONG!!!!  I have ALL THE KNOWLEDGE!!!  ALL THE TOOLS!!!  I will set up a PLAN, go to bed, wake up, and Begin to make OTHERS Happy…. My Patients, Friends, Significant other, kids…..By the time I get to ME, I’m EXHAUSTED!!!  I tell myself … its ok, TOMORROW will be ALL ABOUT ME!!  I wake the next day and do THE EXACT SAME THING!!!!   

INSANITY:  DOING THE SAME THING AND EXPECTING A DIFFERENT RESULT!! 

I’m smarter than this!!!  So, there!!!  I’ve found my WHY!!!  Now its time to CHANGE IT UP!!! 

STARTING TONIGHT…. Dinner AND Workouts completed by 9.  In bed AND lights out by 11!!!  This is just the tip of the ice berg!!  Full details coming soon!!  Please help me keep these goals!!  WE ARE A TEAM!!!  Ok, I’m going to end here…for now… Thanks Kimmie….For being MY MIRROR!!!

Hello My Dearest readers!!!  This is the beginning of My “Birthday Week”!!  I had a WONDERFUL week of SUCCESS last week!!!  I’m looking to TOP IT this week!!!  There are a few goals I plan to accomplish this week!!

GOALS

1.  Cook Dinner Tues, Wed, and Thurs night (as per @kthenb)

2.  Complete week 2 of Push up/situp 6 week challenge (as per @slorunnermom)

3.  Drink 3L of H2O Daily

4.  Do my Reiki exercises Daily (as per @dailykat)

5.  Disconnect one night this week (as per @MizFitonline)

6.  In Bed by 10:30, Lights out at 11

7.  Work out 2x a day (Monday-Friday)

8.  PUT MYSELF FIRST

Okie Dokie!!! There you have it!!!  I WILL have 100% SUCCESS this week…MY BIRTHDAY WEEK!!!!  Keep an EYE on me…Check in on me and let me know that you’ve got my back!!! BTW….

APRIL 14, 2010

12:01 AM…..This AMAZING Day began!!  I had 2 missions for this day! 1.  Be the first to wish my Dear friend Lori happy birthday and 2.  receive my first Reiki attunement.  The first mission was accomplished with perfect timing!!  Staying  up this late has its drawbacks.   I OVERSLEPT for my workout!!  No worries (I thought to myself) I will get in my cardio after work.  I had a hectic day in the Health Center (as always).  I left around 2:30 and headed home to get mentally prepared to receive my Reiki Attunement.  I changed into relaxing attire and called my Dear friend @dailykat . She is my guide/teacher on this journey.   After we spoke, I went to my relaxing spot, set up as she suggested.  I relaxed, grounded myself , and accepted the Reiki Attunement from Kat.  Ahhhhhhhh……The EXPERIENCE was, in a word…FANTABULOUS!!!!!  I felt more ALIVE, more ENERGETIC, More RELAXED than I have in a VERY LONG TIME!!!!!!  I looked on my blackberry in the group and saw that My Dear friend @kthenb had just completed a 5K…FOR FUN!!! I also knew that my “Twin” @teetee_71 was crushing it on the bike at the gym!!  Feeling BRAND NEW and completely and totally INSPIRED, I decided to catch the sunset 5 minutes from my house and walk/jog a 5K!!  I DID IT!!!  It was BEAUTIFUL!!  I took  ALL OF YOU WITH ME!!!

Me and Carla (@MizFitOnline) At the Disney Princess Half Marathon

 

Another wonderful weekend in the history books!!  I have 2 important blogs to get out this week!!  My FabFattie Cruise post and my Fitbloggin post!!  I think the posts that have pictures to add tend to scare me a little!!  I’m such a slow typist as it is and adding the pictures takes me FOREVER!!!!  I also had many action shots to add to this post BUT quite frankly, the picture above tells the story!!  This picture was taken when I went to Orlando to see @MizFitOnline (If you click on her name and it goes to her site, I want you to know that SHE Taught me how to do it!!!  Hey Carla… I DID IT!!! *Proud Smile*)  Carla taught me how to add links at #Fitbloggin!!!  More details later…in THAT post!!!  So, Carla, @workoutmommy and @AskWifey participated in the Disney Princess half Marathon!!!  They ALL did AMAZINGLY well!!!  When I go to see my friends compete, I am content just feeling the energy of the race and catching a glimpse of my friends in their glory!!!  PLUS, I usually meet some really cool spectators along the way!!  It’s a WIN/WIN!!!  This race was no different!!  I took my family up to Orlando.  We stayed in one of the Disney Resorts and went to Animal Kingdom!!  On the day of the race, they slept in while I went to the finish line at Epcot!!  I had my 2 Blackberries and my ipod and off I went!!  Carla was so freakin fast, that she blew by me!!!  Once she finished the race, she called me and asked me where I was!!  After a few texts and calls, she made her way out of the VIP tent (after running her first half marathon) JUST to meet little ole me!!!  I find myself getting a little choked up as I think back to the meeting because she CHOOSE to make the effort!!!  Many had gone back to the room because of fatigue, aches, pains, exhaustion TOTALLY UNDERSTANDABLE)…..But NOT MIZ….. SHE STAYED!!!!  Honestly, to know this woman is to love her!!!!  I ALWAYS knew she had a gentle soul, but at THAT MOMENT, it was confirmed!!!  True to Carla form…she would not let me focus on her….In the middle of all the hugs…she asked me…”What is the One thing that you must do to reach your goals…to have SUCCESS?”  She soooooo caught me off guard with that question!!!  This meeting was supposed to be about her!!!  Well…..Let me just say that her words echo in my ear daily!!  Whenever I start to get a little off track (Like this Saturday)  I ask myself… WHAT MUST I DO TO HAVE SUCCESS?!?  I MUST PUT ME FIRST!!!!!!!!   Thank You, Carla!!!  For Keeping me in line and having my back!!!!

 I had an amazing weekend!!!  It started out on Friday!  After an AWESOME day of  Feet and #FollowFridays, we headed up to Tampa to see “How To Train your Dragon”  in Imax 3D!!  This was a very cute movie!!  The ending disturbed me a bit, being a podiatrist and all, But it was very entertaining!!! (YES, I’M A BIG KID!!)   Once we left, we went down to the square (picture above).  You could hear the music blaring from 2 night clubs!!  2 songs stuck out….”Planet Rock” and “Don’t Stop Believing”  I Love them both for different reasons!!  We had the kids with us so no clubbing that night….BUT I will be going back!! 😉  Then, On Saturday, I was reminded how AMAZING  my Tweethearts are!!!  @FabFattieShan and @nomorebacon ran a 5K for Autism and made some PR times!!! WELL DONE, YOU 2!!  I was also impressed with @ShrinkingJeans!!  These Ladies AMAZE me DAILY!!!  They are in the process of Raising money while training for a half-marathon for  Team In Training!! @LissaJoy smashed an 8 mile long run, @ReallifAdv ran almost 7 miles while dealing with a foot injury and MY SHERO @Christieo ran on a #TreadmillInTheMall ALL DAY SATURDAY For 26 miles!!!!!!! AWESOME!!!!!!!!

I have a SUPER DUPER PLAN For this week!!! @kthenb and I plan To SMASHIT, this week!!!!  Stay Tuned!!!  I also spent time at a friends with a BEAUTIFUL VIEW and I took time To SMELL THE ROSES!!!!!  I must say……

LIFE IS GOOD!!!!!!!!!

Ok…. My current situation has me a little upset.  For the past month or so, I began to have my FIRST HEALTH ISSUE related to weight!!  No, it isn’t Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, or any of those things (I’m still super healthy as far as that goes) My problem is……Pain in my knees!!!!!  I first noticed the issue when I started doing the Biggest Loser workout videos!!  Jumping Jacks, Squats, and Lunges were killer!!!  I don’t like to quit so I powered through the pain (that’s what athletes do, right?) Well, I would ease up a little, feel better, go hard, feel worse!!  Well, this morning, I was awakened around 6:18 AM with a sharp shooting pain in my left knee!!!  This pain is worse than I’ve ever felt before!!  It wouldn’t be THAT BIG of an issue BUT, I’m heading to Myrtle Beach tomorrow for a 5K!!!  I have been soooooooooooooo excited about this little mini vacation of fun AND fitness!!!  I’ve gotten some Great advice AND SUPPORT from @wildfirefitness @jeepjenn @cunningmom @teetee_71 @Phatbff  @slorunnermom and @Bwjen @Iamsucceeding @KyraTX @whiskyd and @monaylexi I’m going to do EVERYTHING within my power to get better before Friday night!!!!  PLEASE Keep me in your prayers!!!

 If you have any helpful tips….. PLEASE SHARE!!!

I’m going to draw strength from all of you… and Im going to BORROW my dear friend Shannon’s (@FabFattieShan) theme song!!! THIS TOO will power me through!!!

2010 is off to a super start!!!  I’ve been working out hard, but I’ve done it at home!!  I have a treadmill, A stationary recumbent bike, weights, Kettle bells, medicine balls, resistance bands, yoga mats and DVDs out the wazoo!!!  I ALSO have a gym membership….I LOVE the atmosphere at my gym!!  I was starting to miss it, so I went back today….first time in 2010!!!  I’ve decided to share my gym with you…..HERE GOES!!

So…. Thats the outside!!  I am going to take you on a quick little tour of the inside!!

One more thing!!!  My weigh-in for Rethink Your Shrink…..Im at 288.9!  Slightly up from my last “official” weigh in BUT…Im down since my cruise!!!!  All is well, and I feel GREAT!!!  😉
